"It's Raining Outside" by Lynda Cookson

"It's Raining Outside" is an instant download image from an original oil painting on board by Lynda Cookson.

The original painting is for sale as well and can be found HERE : "It's Raining Outside"

Sitting in a hotel conservatory one rainy day in Co Galway (Connemara) Ireland, with the rain spattering loudly on the glass of the conservatory, the only happy subject to be painted was a stunning potted plant of white geraniums. This is it. It captures both the beauty of the flowers and the wet feeling of the rainy day.

Everyone has a soft spot for Ireland and you can still find quaint old thatched roof cottages like this one, set in beautiful flower gardens, in villages all around Ireland.

"Red Poppy" by Lynda Cookson

I just put this one up today. The Poppy Collection I did a couple of years ago, whilst working towards a commission painting, remain one of my favourites. They usually pop up where their scarlet petals show up best, in fields of Lavender or Corn. This is what google has to say about what Poppies represent:

"In the spring of 1915, shortly after losing a friend in Ypres, a Canadian doctor, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae was inspired by the sight of poppies growing in battle-scarred fields to write a now famous poem called 'In Flanders Fields'. After the First World War, the poppy was adopted as a symbol ofRemembrance."

This painting is simply called "Red Poppy" and is a palette knife painting (what else if from me! LOL) on paper, with a white matt board. It's set against a creamy yellow background as if waving around happily in a field of corn.

The unframed measurements are Width 12" by Height 11" (or Width 30 cm x Height 28 cms)

"Daisies" by Lynda Cookson

Home and Office Wall Decor (in other words, me and my family team!) are now offering original paintings on our new Etsy Storefront, starting off with Stock Clearance prices. The paintings will be shipped unframed as a further cost saver and shipping is included in the price.

I'm loving trawling through all my images, both photographic and paintings, as I upload them to my various Etsy storefronts ... and, after feeling a little stale for a few months, my fingers are starting to itch again with the anticipation of painting fresh works.

"Daisies" is a medium size, palette knife, oil painting with all the depth and energy you would expect from this medium and technique. Her vibrance speaks for itself :-)

Not shown in the image below, is the monogram signature in the bottom right hand corner of the painting. Here you can see my logo watermark. The original painting has my monogram etched into the paint.

"A Hint of Lace" by Lynda Cookson

I'm chuckling to myself this morning working with this image. Somehow my brain thought there was a song from the rock 'n roll era with the words "A hint of lace" in the lyrics but a search on google didn't bring any such song up ... so I am left to surmise that it is just another case of me singing heartily but using the wrong words in a song! Sigh .... I think we've all done that!

This is a mixed media painting in oil, with the background produced using palette knife, a collage of pink tissue paper and black lace, and what I felt to be the lyrics of that elusive (non-existent? LOL) song represented by dancing lines of gold liner paint.

"A Hint of Lace" is for sale as an original painting - CLICK HERE
and will soon be available as an instant image download .... I'll let you know when.

"Lost 'n Loving It" by Lynda Cookson

I could happily live without a GPS. We all used to live happily without a GPS! Okay, so maybe some of us are happier now with a GPS .... but I still love getting lost simply so that I can enjoy the fun and new experiences of eventually finding my way again. I mean this both for road travel and for the journey of life. I've noticed a tendency of mine is that whenever life is getting too comfortable, I have this knack of stirring it all up so I can look for balance again. Weird. I know.

"Lost 'n Loving It!" really is about me. About my pleasure in getting lost and the sense of achievement and life in finding my way out. This painting was created during a relatively tough time in my life and it always makes me smile to see it.

Both the original and instant downloads are available.

"Rollers" by Lynda Cookson

For us here in the northern hemisphere our thoughts are starting to turn - quite early I might mention! - to the beach and waves and sunshine. With sand between our toes. We've had no winter to speak of at all here in Brittany.

"Rollers" is a little painting I did as a demo for a student so I've put it up on Etsy for absolutely next to nothing.

"Ruin Above the Mist" by Lynda Cookson

"Ruin Above the Mist" was inspired by the wide open spaces, the big skies, where ancient ruins watch out over the lands in Ireland.

It's damp and cool where the blues, greens and grey rule. Crispness dominates in both temperature and view clarity. Ireland breaks all the gauges when it comes to measuring beauty ... too much to measure!

"Clear Green Wave" by Lynda Cookson

It's another really windy and rainy day again here on the west coast of Brittany in France. If we were brave enough to venture down to the sea, which is only 300 metres down a steep road, we'd likely see a rather more active sea than this one! But just imagine the sound of gentle waves lapping at the shore ... in your home each day. How soothing.

"Bowl of Eggs" by Lynda Cookson

Painting is not my only passion in life. Photography began to develop first. It came first not through choice, but through circumstance. Recently, probably thanks to a windy winter, I've brought it back into play 100% and am loving the balance that both painting and photography gives me.

Would this image represent a symbol of new life to you? Or simple enjoyment of the abstract form with easy-on-the-eye colours?

Who doesn't love a good egg!

"Flower of Passion" by Lynda Cookson

I love this abstract flower. It's got the Wow! factor ... the Zing! factor .... the works! LOL It cannot help but be the most exciting conversation piece.

"Flower of Passion" was created as a small acrylic pour painting with a few design techniques thrown in ... using a straw and lots of "hope that it'll settle well". It did.

The original painting is available here:   CLICK HERE

Available here as an instant digital image download for you to print to whatever size suits your home:
